Iconic New York Record Label Reborn During 50th Anniversary Year

Sire Records, one of the most revered and influential labels in modern music, is being reborn during its 50th anniversary year. Effective August 1, widely respected A&R executive Rani Hancock will become President of Sire, based in New York City.

Legendary music executive Seymour Stein, who co-founded Sire Records with Richard Gottehrer in 1967, will continue to bring his wealth of experience and wisdom to the label as its Chairman.

First Access Entertainment Signs Exclusive Worldwide Publishing Deal with Warner/Chappell Music

Following on from Sarah Stennett's international award win and key note address at Midem 2017, First Access Entertainment today announced that it has signed an exclusive worldwide publishing administration agreement with Warner/Chappell Music, the music publishing arm of Warner Music Group.

Warner/Chappell will represent First Access’ publishing roster for synchronisation in film, TV, advertising, games and other media, as well as provide global copyright administration.

Thierry Chassagne, President of Warner Music France, yesterday was appointed Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite – a Knight of France’s prestigious National Order of Merit. This is a high honor bestowed by the President of the French Republic to individuals with distinguished military or civil achievements – “acts of devotion, bravery, generosity, real merit or a measurable commitment to serving others or France.” The National Order of Merit was founded in 1963 by then French President Charles de Gaulle.
