Dyo Signs Publishing Deal with Warner/Chappell

Warner/Chappell Music—the publishing arm of Warner Music Group—today announced that it has signed a publishing deal with Pop/R&B songwriter and performer Dyo, formerly known as Ms D. 

Dyo originally came to the attention of the music world by co-writing and appearing as a featured artist on Wiley’s hits “Heatwave", "Can You Hear Me?

Songwriter JT Harding Signs Worldwide Co-Publishing Agreement with Warner/Chappell Music and THiS Music

Warner/Chappell Music (WCM), the music publishing arm of Warner Music Group, along with Nashville-based music publishing company THiS Music, today announced that it has signed a worldwide co-publishing agreement with Nashville songwriter J.T. Harding. Harding’s latest hit is Dierks Bentley and Elle King’s “Different for Girls,” which has been one of the top country songs of the summer and is currently No. 1 on Billboard Country charts in the United States and Canada.

“Adding JT Harding to our THiS Music team is a dream come true,” said Rusty Gaston, General Manager/Partner, THiS Music.

Dear Songwriters,

I know that the determination of the Department of Justice (DOJ) on the issue of 100% licensing of US performance rights in musical compositions has weighed heavily on our minds over the past several months. In July, I wrote to you, promising to keep you up-to-date on everything that happens, as it happens. 

Today, I am very pleased to inform you of the result of a legal challenge brought by BMI against the DOJ. Just this afternoon, Judge Stanton ruled that the BMI consent decree does not require 100% licensing.

Congratulations to Our 2016 CMA Awards Nominees

CMA nominations were announced today and our artists across recorded music and publishing did extremely well. W/C songwriter Chris Stapleton tied for the most nominations with five, while Jesse Frasure and Jay Joyce are up for both Song and Single of the Year for their work on Thomas Rhett’s “Die a Happy Man” and Eric Church’s “Record Year,” respectively. On the recorded music side Cole Swindell received a nomination for New Artist of the Year and Dan + Shay are up for Vocal Duo of the Year.
