Jon Platt, Chairman and CEO of Warner/Chappell Music, today announced that Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter will be joining him in L.A. for the Oct. 11 City of Hope gala supporting the acclaimed nonprofit clinical research and treatment center for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases. The visionary music mogul and twenty-one-time Grammy Award-winning rapper, producer, and Warner/Chappell songwriter will present the prestigious Spirit of Life® award to Platt.


Alfonso Perez-Soto Named EVP, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa

Alfonso Perez-Soto has been appointed EVP Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, Warner Music Group.


In this newly created role, he will oversee the company’s operations in those quickly developing markets. Based in Miami and New York, Alfonso will report to Stu Bergen, Warner Music Group’s CEO, International and Global Commercial Services.

Andy Ma has been appointed CEO, Warner Music China and EVP, Commercial and Business Development, Greater China. In his new role, Andy will report to Simon Robson, President, Warner Music Asia. He will lead Warner Music’s expansion in one of the world’s fastest-growing music markets, driving its ambition to be the leading label in China.

Andy was previously Warner Music’s Chief Commercial Officer for Greater China and SVP, Commercial and Business Development, Greater China and South East Asia.

Warner Music Group Corp. Reports Results for Fiscal Third Quarter Ended June 30, 2018

  • Total revenue grew 4.5% or was up 1.9% in constant currency
  • Digital revenue grew 16.1% or was up 14.1% in constant currency
  • Net income was $321 million versus $143 million in the prior-year quarter
  • OIBDA was $99 million versus $115 million in the prior-year quarter

Warner Music Group Corp. today announced its third-quarter financial results for the period ended June 30, 2018. 

“Amazing new music from our artists and songwriters and great execution from our global operators have driven our year-to-date revenue up 12%, or 7% in constant currency,” said Steve Cooper, Warner Music Group’s CEO.
