Carianne Marshall Named COO, Warner/Chappell Music

Carianne Marshall will join Warner/Chappell Music as COO, it was announced today by Warner/Chappell Chairman & CEO Jon Platt. Marshall was most recently Partner, Head of Creative Services, and Head of Creative Licensing at SONGS, the prominent independent music publisher, where she worked closely with songwriters such as Lorde, The Weeknd, Diplo, and DJ Mustard, among many others. Beginning in June, Marshall will report to Platt and will be based at the company's Los Angeles headquarters.

The Spirit of Life® Award is City of Hope’s highest honor, and each year recognizes a philanthropic leader whose work has fundamentally impacted music, film or entertainment.

The BBC Music Magazine Awards took place today in a ceremony at Kings Place in London.

In the Opera category, the winner is Berlioz's Les Troyens: the milestone 4CD opera recording on Warner Classics with an all-star cast headed by Joyce DiDonato, Marie-Nicole Lemieux, Michael Spyres and Marianne Crebassa, with the Orchestre Philharmonic de Strasbourg and maestro John Nelson.

Warner Music Strikes Licensing Deal for Spinnin’ Repertoire with NetEase

Warner Music Group (WMG) has struck a deal with NetEase, the Chinese audio and video streaming service, to license music from Spinnin’ Records, the world’s leading international dance record label.

The deal will enable NetEase Music’s 400 million users to access repertoire from some of the world’s leading DJs and producers including Afrojack, Alok, Bingo Players, CARTA, Don Diablo, Jay Hardway, KSHMR, Lucas & Steve, Oliver Heldens, Sam Feldt and Tiësto.

NetEase Music enables users to comment and share the licensed music available on its platform.
