Kei Ishizaka to Retire from Warner Music Japan

Veteran Executive Successfully Steered Company Through Key Transformational Period

 

Warner Music Group (WMG) today announced the retirement of Kei Ishizaka from his post as Chairman & CEO, Warner Music Japan. A 46-year veteran of the Japanese music industry, Ishizaka joined Warner Music in 2011, having previously served in senior executive positions at Universal Music and Toshiba-EMI.
 

While at Warner Music Japan, Ishizaka spearheaded the success of new artists such as Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, one of the most popular acts in Japan today.

Mute Partners With ADA

ADA, the independent distribution and services arm of Warner Music Group (WMG), today announced a partnership with renowned independent record label Mute. Since its launch more than three decades ago, the Mute roster has included seminal artists such as Depeche Mode, Moby, Erasure, Goldfrapp, Can, Yaz and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. Innovative online course connects participants around the world to build creative problem-solving skills through the lens of music.

Stanford University announced today the launch of ‘Creativity: Music to My Ears,’ a free, massive open online course (MOOC) teaching creative problem-solving skills through the lens of music. Taught by Stanford Engineering Professor Tina Seelig, the course features contributions of Warner Music Group artists, songwriters and executives.

Banks Signs Worldwide Publishing Agreement With Warner/Chappell Music

Warner/Chappell Music, the music publishing arm of Warner Music Group, today announced that it has signed a worldwide publishing agreement with acclaimed singer and songwriter Jillian Banks AKA Banks.
