Warner Music UK Enjoys Record Breaking Year at The BRIT Awards

Warner Music UK (WMUK) is celebrating the company’s most successful BRIT Awards yet. WMUK artists won six of the eleven awards (six of the eight UK awards) announced during the show, more than any other music company. These awards follow a spectacular showing for Max Lousada’s Warner Music at the Grammy Awards in New York last month.

Warner Music Appoints Marcela Vaccari as VP, Business Development, Latin America and Spain

Warner Music has appointed Marcela Vaccari as Vice President, Business Development, Latin America and Spain. She will be based in Miami and report to Iñigo Zabala, President, Latin America and Iberia, Warner Music.

In her new role, Vaccari will work on enhancing Warner Music’s existing business partnerships and striking new deals to help grow revenue for the record company and its artists.

Marcela Vaccari says: “I’m delighted to be working with Iñigo and the team as we further build Warner Music’s presence in key emerging markets.

NIKO NORDSTRÖM HONORED WITH LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD AT FINNISH GRAMMYS

Niko Nordström, President of Warner Music Australasia, has been honored with a prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the Emma Gaala, the Finnish equivalent of the U.S. Grammy Awards. This year’s Emma Gaala, which has been run by IFPI Finland for more than three decades, was held on Saturday night at the Espoo Metro Areena in Helsinki.

Nordström was the Managing Director of Warner Music Finland from 2007 to 2017, when he left to take up his current post in Sydney.

Warner Music Group Corp. Reports Results for Fiscal First Quarter Ended December 31, 2017

·    Total revenue grew 14.0% or was up 10.1% in constant currency

·    Digital revenue grew 20.0% or was up 17.1% in constant currency

·    Net income was $5 million versus $24 million in the prior-year quarter

WMG Launches Warner Music Middle East

Warner Music Group (WMG) has announced the launch of Warner Music Middle East, a new wholly-owned recorded music affiliate covering 17 markets across the Middle East and North Africa, an area with a total population of 380 million. The new division is based in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, which is an important creative hub for A&R, as well as being one of the main centres for regional media and technology.

Warner Music Middle East will be headed by Managing Director, Moe Hamzeh, who joins WMG from the Beirut-based video streaming platform, m.media.
