Ben Larsen Named SVP, International Marketing for Warner Bros. Records

Admired Global Exec Upped to Department Head

Ben Larsen has been promoted to Senior Vice President, International Marketing for Warner Bros. Records (WBR), based at the label’s Los Angeles headquarters. Larsen, who was most recently WBR’s VP of International Marketing, joined the Warner Music family in London in 2009 before moving to L.A. three years ago. In his new post, Larsen now heads the International Marketing team and reports to WBR Co-Chairman & COO Tom Corson.

In making the announcement, Corson said: “Since coming on board at WBR, I have been continually impressed by Ben’s deep understanding of both the overall global marketplace as well as the cultures and musical trends that are unique to individual territories around the world. With more global possibilities opening up than ever before, Ben and his team are perfectly positioned to create innovative, boundary-crossing opportunities for our artists. I’m very pleased to welcome him to his much-deserved new post.”

Larsen noted: “To be in the middle of connecting our growing roster of exciting new talent and our established superstars with our Warner teams, partners, and fans all over the world is an incredible opportunity. I’d like to thank Tom and Aaron for creating an environment where we can give our artists and their music the care, devotion, and support to have truly global careers. We have an amazing team in place, and we’re all excited to be part of making new history at WBR.”

Larsen is joined on the WBR International Marketing team by: Susan Leon – SVP, Global Artist & Label Relations; Kate Haffenden – Senior Director, International Marketing; Joe Maddern – Director, International Marketing; Ashley May and Alex Chandler – Managers, International Marketing; and Assistants Mollie Chen and Bryana Schuyler.

Larsen started his Warner Music career nine years ago, when he joined the Global Marketing team in London. While there, he oversaw the company’s relationship with Because Music, working on international campaigns for artists such as Christine and The Queens, Major Lazer, Justice, Little Dragon, and Django Django. Larsen also worked with the WBR roster – including Michael Bublé, Bebe Rexha, Gary Clark Jr., Green Day, Linkin Park, and Mac Miller – as well as serving as liaison with Ignition Records and 300 Entertainment.

Relocating to Los Angeles in 2015, he became International Marketing Director for WBR before being upped to Vice President, International Marketing. Among his accomplishments was overseeing the year-long international “Meant to Be” campaign to continue to break Grammy nominee Bebe Rexha across the globe.
