17-Time Grammy® Winner Joins Award-Winning Music Publisher

Warner/Chappell Music, the music publishing arm of Warner Music Group, today announced that it has signed a global publishing agreement with 17-time Grammy® winner and multi-million-selling superstar Beyoncé. Effective immediately, Warner/Chappell will administer Beyoncé’s future songwriting, including her much-anticipated next album.

“It’s an honor to join Warner/Chappell Music and to continue working with my friend Jon Platt,” said Beyoncé.  “I trust his vision and admire his professionalism and I look forward to our partnership.”

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Beyoncé for many years now and I am always inspired by her drive, her creative vision and the breadth of her talent as a songwriter, performer and artist” said Jon Platt, President, Creative – North America, Warner/Chappell Music “Not only has she become a global phenomenon, she has helped re-define what it means to be an entertainment icon. Everyone at Warner/Chappell is honored to have the opportunity to serve this ground-breaking superstar, as she continues to evolve, growing her incredible catalog of songs and producing some truly extraordinary new music.”

Beyoncé first rose to fame as the lead singer of Destiny’s Child, one of the best-selling girl groups of all time, with more than 50 million records sold worldwide. Since embarking on her solo career in 2002, she has sold more than 75 million solo records worldwide. Every solo album—Dangerously in Love (2003), B’Day (2006), I Am… Sasha Fierce (2008), and 4 (2011)— has reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200.  In 2009, Billboard named her the Top Female Artist and Top Radio Songs Artist of the decade. In 2010, Beyoncé broke the record for most Grammy® awards received by a female artist in one night, taking home six.  In 2011, she was the first solo female artist to headline the Pyramid stage at the Glastonbury Festival in over 20 years.

This year, she performed at the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show, a high energy twelve-minutes that drew a worldwide audience of over 108 million. Just this month she added her 17th win to her already impressive tally with the Grammy ® for Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Love On Top.”

She recently announced The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, which kicks off in Europe on April 15 and arrives in North America on June 28. Her feature-length documentary film, Life Is But a Dream, which she directed and produced, premiered on HBO this month becoming the most watched documentary on HBO in the last ten years. She has starred in other feature films, including Dreamgirls (2006), which earned her two Golden Globe nominations, and Cadillac Records (2008), where she also served as executive producer.

As a businesswoman, Beyoncé is the owner and CEO of Parkwood Entertainment, an entertainment, production, management and brand marketing company.
