Lucy Otterwell Promoted To SVP, Digital Strategy & Business Development, EMEA, Warner Music Group

Warner Music Group Corp. (WMG) today announced the promotion of Lucy Otterwell to the position of Senior Vice President, Digital Strategy & Business Development, Europe, Middle East & Africa. Based in London, Otterwell will report to Stephen Bryan, Executive Vice President, Digital Strategy & Business Development, Warner Music Group. She will oversee WMG’s business development in this region and collaborate with the company’s network of affiliates to help drive global digital growth. Her responsibilities will include forging partnerships with new digital services and innovative start-ups, as well as building and progressing WMG’s relationships with existing players. Otterwell will return to London, where she first began working for WMG in 2007, after having spent three years at the company’s global headquarters in New York.
 
In making the appointment, Stephen Bryan said, “Lucy is a first-class digital strategist. Her broad experience in deal-making, combined with her background as a lawyer, has given her a rare and extensive understanding of our business. Having worked at both our global and international headquarters, she has excellent relationships with a wide range of key partners and an impressive knowledge of how local markets are evolving. This appointment will strengthen our ability to elevate best practices, respond swiftly to emerging technology and accelerate worldwide growth.”

Otterwell joined Warner Music International from the law firm K&L Gates as Business Affairs Director in June 2007, and in 2010 she was promoted to the role of Vice President, Digital & Commercial Legal Affairs. In 2011, Lucy transferred to New York and soon moved departments to the role of Vice President, Digital Strategy & Business Development, where she oversaw the formation of strategic global partnerships during a period of major transformation for the industry. Over the last six years, she has established herself as a key member of WMG’s digital team and has successfully negotiated agreements with a wide range of companies such as Nokia, 7Digital, Deezer and Spotify.
