Veteran Music & Media Executive Joins Senior Management Team
Veteran music and media executive Paul Kahn has been named Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer for Warner/Chappell Music (WCM), the music publishing arm of Warner Music Group. Kahn previously held senior roles at Viacom, EMI, Primedia and Himalaya Capital. In his new post, Kahn reports to Warner/Chappell CEO Jon Platt.
In making the announcement, Jon Platt said, “I am very pleased to welcome Paul to the Warner/Chappell team. One of the most respected and accomplished execs in our business, he comes to WCM with over two decades of wide-ranging experience. As we continue to expand the avenues of exposure for our songwriters, Paul’s financial savvy and diverse background will make him a tremendous asset to our growth and development.”

Just prior to joining Warner/Chappell, Kahn spent two years as SVP of Viacom. From 2005 through 2013, he was with EMI Music, where he served as CFO for six years. This marked his return to the company, where he had previously spent 1995 to 1998 as a Financial Analysis Manager. In between his EMI posts, Kahn was CFO of Primedia’s Business Information Group and General Partner of Himalaya Capital. He began his career in 1991 as a Senior Auditor with Ernst & Young.
Kahn holds a BS degree from Binghamton University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
