We are deeply saddened that Mar Brown passed away yesterday after suffering a heart attack. This is shocking, heartbreaking news to all of us, especially those who worked closely with him — both at Atlantic and across the industry. He was a fantastic music man, a devoted father, and an amazing human being, who was taken from us far too soon. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his children, his family, and his many, many friends.
Always passionate and caring, Mar was widely loved by artists, partners and colleagues. His paternal instincts extended to his team, for whom he was an uplifting mentor who could always be counted on for the answers. We’re sure that many of you have seen the outpouring of love and respect on social media, coming from all corners of the industry. It is a fitting testament to a man who charmed and inspired people everywhere he went.
