Broitman to Oversee Newly-Unified Synchronization Team

Warner/Chappell Music and Rhino Entertainment today announced the promotion of Ron Broitman to Executive Vice President, Head of Synchronization, Warner/Chappell Music (WCM) & Rhino Entertainment.  Overseeing WCM and Rhino’s newly-unified synchronization operations, Broitman will lead a team representing both recorded music and music publishing rights and offering clients a comprehensive licensing service. Broitman and his team will work to serve recording artists and songwriters by strategically developing new opportunities in film, TV, advertising, video games, and new media, and also by collaborating with the company’s frontline recorded music labels. Based in Los Angeles, Broitman will continue to report to Cameron Strang, Chairman & CEO, WCM, who oversees WMG’s West Coast operations, including its Music Publishing & Catalog Development division. Broitman previously served as Senior Vice President, Head of Synchronization, WCM.

“Ron is a world-class talent in his field, with years of success in working with clients across all forms of media to create credible, memorable synchronizations that excite global audiences,” said Strang. “Combining the expertise and resources of these two excellent teams, under Ron’s experienced leadership, will help us set a new standard in licensing. The united operation will be faster-moving, better-connected and more innovative, resulting in an enhanced service and enabling us to generate even more significant opportunities for artists and songwriters.”

“I’m honored to be given this unique role and to be working with this incredible array of recording artists and songwriters, and rich repertoire of music,” said Broitman.  “Addressing our clients’ synchronization needs in a single conversation not only makes the licensing process easier, it means we can offer a wider choice of music, and foster deeper creative collaborations between recording artists, songwriters and clients.”

Prior to Warner/Chappell, Broitman served as Senior Vice President of Film, TV & Advertising at Sony/ATV Music Publishing. In this role, Broitman was responsible for building and managing a 16-person team that placed and negotiated Sony/ATV’s entire repertoire across a number of media platforms, including advertising campaigns, film and film trailers, new media projects, television and video games. Before joining Sony/ATV Music Publishing, Broitman spent 10 years at BMG Music Publishing US, including as Vice President of Film, TV & Advertising Music. In this position, he managed the day-to-day activities of the synchronization department and represented the BMG and Zomba Music Publishing catalogs. During that time, Broitman spent two years overseeing the entire synchronization business for all of the music publishing catalogs and all of the BMG recorded music labels, including Arista, Jive and RCA, among others. Broitman began his career in commercial production for Propaganda Films and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from UCLA and a Juris Doctorate degree from Cornell Law School.
