Warner Music Group (WMG) today announced the promotion of Tim Fraser-Harding to President, Global Catalog, Recorded Music. In his new post, Fraser-Harding will oversee global strategy and operations for all aspects of the development and marketing of WMG’s rich legacy of recorded music – which includes classic repertoire from iconic labels such as Atlantic, Elektra, Warner Bros., and Parlophone. Fraser-Harding’s responsibilities include spearheading worldwide campaigns, identifying and implementing innovative product initiatives, and advancing the company’s digital catalog strategy. Fraser-Harding, who joined WMG in 2012 as Senior Vice President, Global Catalog Management, Recorded Music, will continue to be based in London and will report to WMG’s CEO, Steve Cooper.

Kevin Gore, currently President, Rhino Entertainment & Global Catalog, is leaving WMG to pursue a new opportunity that will be announced tomorrow.

It was also announced that long-time WMG executive Mark Pinkus has been appointed President of U.S. Catalog & Rhino Entertainment. Pinkus, a 22-year veteran of the legendary compilations and reissues imprint, was most recently Rhino’s Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing. Growing his role to oversee all aspects of WMG’s catalog activity in the U.S., he will report to Fraser-Harding and continue to be based in Los Angeles.

Dirk Ewald, Senior Vice President, Global Catalog Management, will report to Fraser-Harding and work closely with him to forge global catalog strategy. Based in London, Ewald joined WMG from Parlophone Label Group last year. He will continue to collaborate with recorded music teams across the world to devise high-profile global, regional, and local campaigns, while also driving the development and diversification of product lines.

Warner Music Group CEO Steve Cooper noted, “The WMG catalog is one of the most extraordinary collections in the history of recorded music and home to many of the world’s most popular and influential artists. Our ongoing investment in new creative and commercial opportunities for this incredible body of work is a central tenet of our long-term strategy, and we’re only just starting to realize the possibilities presented by digital technologies. Tim has done an exceptional job in energizing our catalog business around the globe, driving a fantastic release schedule that has expertly mined our rich legacy, supported by a series of creative, highly successful campaigns. A passionate fan with an encyclopedic knowledge of music history, Tim’s deep experience, operational expertise, and innovative thinking make him ideally suited to take on this expanded global role in an area that is at the heart of WMG. Together, Tim, Mark, and Dirk form a catalog team of unparalleled talent and vision.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Kevin for his outstanding contributions to the global development of WMG’s catalog business over the past 12 years, particularly during his past four years as President, when he achieved some amazing results during a period of major transformation. He will be missed, but I understand his desire to open an exciting new chapter in his life, and all of us at WMG wish him the best in his new endeavor.”

Tim Fraser-Harding said, “It is a privilege to be entrusted with WMG’s incredible heritage, as we constantly seek out fresh and creative avenues to bring this historic, culture-shifting music to new audiences and long-time fans across the globe. I want to thank Steve for this wonderful new opportunity, and I look forward to continuing to work closely with Mark, Dirk, and WMG’s terrific teams around the world to build on this vital, dynamic part of our business.”
