WMG Names Eliah Seton President of ADA Worldwide

Warner Music Group (WMG) today announced the promotion of Eliah Seton to President of Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA) Worldwide, the company’s independent distribution and services arm. Seton, who has been with WMG since 2009, was most recently Senior Vice President, International Strategy & Operations, Warner Recorded Music. Based in New York, he will continue to report to Stu Bergen, President, International, Warner Recorded Music. Seton succeeds Mike Jbara, who has moved to the newly created position of Executive Vice President, Technology & Business Processes for WMG, reporting to WMG CEO Steve Cooper.

In making the announcement, Stu Bergen said: “Eliah brings the ideal combination of business savvy, global experience, and a genre-spanning love of music to his new role. He can deliver on multiple fronts for our partners, from strategic innovation to revenue diversification. Eliah joins ADA’s peerless leadership and the entire outstanding team, who have set the standard for world-class service to independent artists. Together, they will be great ambassadors for ADA and the indie community, as we continue to expand the company’s global footprint and band together with the best labels in the world.”

Eliah Seton noted: “I’m looking forward to harnessing our firepower in support of independent music across the globe. So much amazing music is being created today by indie artists, from both established and emerging labels. We are passionate about helping to grow this dynamic and vibrant community. The ADA team is the best in the business, and I want to thank Stu for this wonderful opportunity.”

Having joined WMG’s Strategic & Business Development team in 2009, Seton played a key role in the sale of the company to Access Industries. Following the completion of the acquisition in 2011, he was named Vice President, Office of the CEO – a team he helped build, contributing to a wide variety of strategic initiatives. He helped execute WMG's deal to acquire Parlophone Label Group (PLG) in 2013, as well as the planning for PLG's integration with the WMG family. That same year, he was promoted to SVP, International Strategy & Operations, Warner Recorded Music, where he helped accelerate the development of WMG’s international operations, identifying and executing strategic priorities, special projects, and local investments. Notably in this role, in 2014 he oversaw WMG’s acquisition of Gold Typhoon, one of Greater China’s leading independent labels.

Seton holds an MBA degree from Harvard Business School and is a graduate of Harvard College.
