Jesper Thorsson appointed Manager, ADA Nordic
Distribution Alliance (ADA), the no.1 distributor of independent music in the US, was today launched in the Nordic region. The new division will bring digital and physical distribution services to independent music companies operating in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. Jesper Thorsson has been appointed as Manager, ADA Nordic to head up the operation. Effective immediately, Thorsson is based in Stockholm and reports into Jonas Siljemark, President of Warner Music Nordic.
ADA gives independent record labels access to a flexible distribution system that marries the effectiveness and convenience of a major label with the marketing sensibilities of an independent. The range of services offered by ADA Nordic will include physical and digital retail sales and marketing, manufacturing, media buying, synchronization and licensing. Having first launched in the US in 1993, ADA has provided the same menu of benefits to many of the greatest independent labels around the world.
Jesper Thorsson said, “ADA Nordic has been created specifically to offer the best service and support to the region’s diverse, dynamic community of indie labels. We will provide our partners and their outstanding artists with a host of new opportunities via our powerful distribution footprint, strong sales philosophy and commitment to assist in long-term artist development. I am hugely proud to be bringing the spirit, culture and infrastructure of the world’s preeminent indie distributor to the Nordic territory.”
Jonas Siljemark said, “Jesper is the perfect choice to launch and lead ADA Nordic. He has been working with indie labels and artists for many years and has a deep understanding of their requirements, as well as how ADA can deliver them maximum value. Under Jesper’s leadership, ADA Nordic will present the region with a new high standard in independent distribution.”
Jesper Thorsson previously worked for independent record label Bonnier Amigo Music Group where he was Label Manager for Roadrunner Records in Scandinavia and Finland. Prior to that, Jesper was Export Manager for independent label Music Network where he was also responsible for Rock A&R.
