First release mixed by Judge Jules selects greatest 'Gatecrasher Anthems 1993 - 2009'

Rhino UK, a division of Warner Music UK, and Gatecrasher, the global club brand, today announced a partnership covering multi-artist albums and merchandising. Under the terms of the agreement, Gatecrasher and Warner Music / Rhino UK will together produce new, co-branded compilations by drawing on their relationships with the world-wide dance music community. The two companies will also collaborate on the creation of clubbing-related Gatecrasher merchandise.

The products will be marketed and distributed by Warner Music / Rhino via its international commercial and promotional footprint, backed by its network of affiliates. Gatecrasher will also drive awareness of new releases through the brand’s clubs and events around the world as well as by offering online previews and exclusives to its extensive membership database.

Released this summer, the first album under the new deal will be a selection of the best music played at Gatecrasher during the sixteen years since the club’s launch. It will be called 'Gatecrasher Anthems 1993 - 2009' and will be mixed by the original residents, the legendary Judge Jules, Matt Hardwick and Scott Bond. The material will be available in a choice of formats including a deluxe digital ‘bundle’ with bonus content. In the UK, the album will benefit from a high-impact TV-led marketing campaign. The release will be accompanied by a range of anniversary merchandise.

DJ Judge Jules commented; "Gatecrasher has occupied a significant place in my heart since I became resident there in the late 90s. There was simply no place like it in terms of atmosphere and unique, musically-knowledgeable crowd. Now, after sixteen years, it's proved its credentials by weathering every clubland storm, and coming out stronger and just as relevant as ever."

Dan Chalmers, Managing Director, Rhino UK & International said, “Compilations continue to be a popular means for music fans to easily discover and own a variety of music from a trusted source. Not only that, dance is the biggest-selling genre within the compilation market in the UK. We’re delighted to be building on our wide-ranging success with compilations by partnering with an internationally renowned, instantly recognisable club brand that is involved with many dance music stars. This deal extends and develops the Gatecrasher brand, further diversifies Rhino’s repertoire and expands both companies’ ability to offer new fan experiences that combine recorded music and merchandising.”

Simon Raine, Gatecrasher, Managing Director added, “We are very happy to be joining forces with Rhino UK on this deal. The way the music industry works has diversified dramatically from when we first started in the compilations market. The way music can reach clubbers is unlimited and our opportunities are endless. Clubbing is as much about lifestyle as it is about music and it’s important for the Gatecrasher brand to grow and diversify.”
