Warner Music UK today announced that Mike Allen has been appointed to the role of VP, International Marketing, WMUK.
Allen will replace Julian Wright, who has decided to leave the company but will stay on to the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition. Allen will report to Christian Tattersfield, CEO, Warner Music UK and Chairman, Warner Bros. Records UK. Allen will assume responsibility for marketing Warner Music’s UK roster around the world, including acts such as Muse, Paolo Nutini, James Blunt, Plan B, Katherine Jenkins, Biffy Clyro, and Rumer. He will work closely with the company’s US labels as well the company’s network of affiliates in 35 markets.
After beginning his career at independent record labels, Allen joined Polygram International in the Marketing team where he worked on global campaigns for artists such as U2, Metallica and Elton John, among others. After a successful stint as Managing Director of Mercury Records Australia, Allen returned to the UK as SVP International for EMI UK, where he orchestrated campaigns for acts including Coldplay, Robbie Williams, Gorillaz, Radiohead and Corinne Bailey Rae. Since 2008 Allen has acted as a consultant to clients including Warner Music UK, Believe Digital, Prestige Management and ATC Management.
