As an entrepreneur, he established Sound Crew, a music production and recording studio, and The Works, an events production company, which he both managed until he left to pursue his MBA at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 2003.

After completing his graduate studies in 2005, Ian joined Digicorp, a Los Angeles-based media and technology company. He went on to work for Sesame Workshop, the New York-based educational media company behind Sesame Street from 2007 to 2011, before returning to the Philippines as VP of Business

Development at TV5, and eventually the Head of the Office of Strategy Management at Mediaquest, the media holding company of the PLDT Group - the country’s largest telecoms provider. He went on to lead Fintechnology in 2016.
