2016 will mark the 50th anniversary of Sire Records. Since its founding by industry legend Seymour Stein – who remains at the helm – and Richard Gotterher, Sire has lived at the cutting edge of modern music. The Sire vision continues today with Delta Rae, Ben Fields, Residual Kid, Cold Fronts, and others. In 1976, ten years after its formation, Sire joined the Warner Music Group family and quickly became a pioneering force on the emerging punk and new wave scene, signing such groundbreaking artists as the Ramones and Talking Heads.
