Carlos Ruiz Díaz Named Managing Director of Warner/Chappell Music Mexico

Warner/Chappell Music, the music publishing arm of Warner Music Group, today announced the appointment of Carlos Ruiz Díaz as Managing Director, Warner/Chappell Music Mexico. He reports to Gustavo Menendez, President, Warner/Chappell Music, Latin America.

Having started out at Warner Music Mexico in 1991 and going on to work at various global entertainment companies affiliated with Universal Music, AOL Time Warner, and Univision, Díaz brings more than twenty-five years of experience to WMG.

Warner Music Group Enters Into Agreement to Acquire EMP Merchandising, A Leading European Music & Entertainment E-Tailer

EMP To Remain A Stand-Alone Direct-to-Fan Unit Run By Current Leadership Team

Warner Music Group (WMG) today announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire EMP Merchandising Handelsgesellschaft mbH (EMP), one of Europe’s leading specialty music and entertainment merchandise e-tailers. EMP is currently owned by Sycamore Partners, a private equity firm based in New York. Once the deal is complete, EMP will become a stand-alone, direct-to-fan business unit within WEA, WMG’s global artist and label services division headed by President Tony Harlow.

Warner Music Group Corp. Reports Results for Fiscal Third Quarter Ended June 30, 2018

  • Total revenue grew 4.5% or was up 1.9% in constant currency
  • Digital revenue grew 16.1% or was up 14.1% in constant currency
  • Net income was $321 million versus $143 million in the prior-year quarter
  • OIBDA was $99 million versus $115 million in the prior-year quarter

Warner Music Group Corp. today announced its third-quarter financial results for the period ended June 30, 2018. 

“Amazing new music from our artists and songwriters and great execution from our global operators have driven our year-to-date revenue up 12%, or 7% in constant currency,” said Steve Cooper, Warner Music Group’s CEO.
