Elektra Records Marks 70th Anniversary

70 years ago this month – on October 10, 1950 – 19-year-old college student Jac Holzman started a record label in his dorm room. He decided to call it Elektra after a Greek demigoddess, and turned an M on its side to create the signature E for the label’s first logo. With that, one of the most pioneering, revered, and influential companies in music history was born.

To mark the occasion, Elektra today revealed a special anniversary logo that embodies Holzman’s original design and will be used on all Elektra and Elektra/Rhino releases through the end of 2021. The label will be celebrating the

Warner Music Group Corp. (“WMG”) today announced the election of Ceci Kurzman to the company’s Board of Directors, including the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, effective October 1st. Dan Rosen Appointed President of Warner Music Australasia

Highly accomplished and respected music industry leader Dan Rosen has been named President of Warner Music Australasia, effective February 1st 2021. Rosen will join Warner after serving almost a decade as CEO of ARIA, the industry body for Australia’s record labels, and PPCA, the collecting society that licenses recorded music for broadcast and public performance. A renowned advocate for the rights of artists and labels, Rosen holds advanced degrees in law and business, while also having had a career as an accomplished artist.

Noted industry leader Niko Nordström has been named Executive Vice President, Warner Music Nordics and Managing Director of Warner Music Finland. This marks a return to his role in the Nordics after spending nearly four years in Sydney as President of Warner Music Australasia. Nordström will be based in Helsinki and report to Mark Fry, the newly appointed President of Warner Music Nordics.

ADA's New Latin Division Builds Out Global Team

ADA Latin, the recently launched Latin division of Warner Music Group’s ADA Worldwide, has made several key hires across its global leadership team. Those include: Cesar Lores, Director, ADA Iberia, based in Madrid; Hamurabi Castro, Director, ADA Mexico, based in Mexico City; João Alquéres, ADA Brazil, based in Rio de Janeiro; and Mariangela Rubbini, Director, ADA Andean Region, based in Bogotá. ADA Latin also rounds out its Miami team with Diego Abaroa joining as VP of Commerce & Marketing and Michelle Garcia serving as Manager, Operations & Support.
