Alejandro Duque Named as the Next President of Warner Music Latin America

Alejandro Duque has been named as the next President of Warner Music Latin America. He will join the company in August and take up his new role at the start of October, succeeding Iñigo Zabala, who it has previously been reported is stepping down from his role as President of Latin America and Iberia after working for Warner Music for more than 30 years.

Duque joins Warner Music from Universal Music, where he has forged a career over the last 15 years, most recently serving as Managing Director of Universal Music Latin.


Transgressive Publishing and Warner Chappell Music Sign The Joy

The Joy have signed a worldwide publishing deal with Transgressive Publishing and Warner Chappell Music. The band – comprising Ntokozo Magcaba, Melokuhle Mkhungo, Sanele Ngcobo, Phelelani Sithole and Sandile Sphelele Hlophe – hail from South Africa, but are fast becoming an international phenomenon.

Their new single ‘Isencane Lengane’, out this week, was recorded and produced by Two Inch Punch, the UK record producer known for his work with Jessie Ware, Rag’n’Bone Man, Rex Orange County, Sam Smith and Years & Years.

Widely Respected Music Exec Joe Kentish Named President Of Warner Records UK

Warner Music UK (WMUK) today announced a leadership transition at Warner Records UK that will see Joe Kentish promoted to President, Warner Records UK, effective from the 1st June, following Phil Christie’s decision to step down from the label. Kentish, who has been with the label since 2014, during which time he’s discovered and signed the likes of Dua Lipa and Griff, as well as overseen an expansion of the roster, including the signing of acts such as Mist, Nines and Pa Salieu, will report to WMUK CEO Tony Harlow.


Warner Chappell Music France Signs Ikaz Boi

Warner Chappell Music France, the music publishing arm of Warner Music Group, has signed a worldwide deal with in-demand urban and electronic producer Ikaz Boi, who has composed songs for international acts from Quavo to Hoodrich Pablo Juan, as well as some of the biggest names in French rap, such as Damso and Niska.
