Nate Albert Named EVP of A&R for Warner Bros. Records

Widely Admired Musician and Exec Joins Senior Management Team


Nate Albert has joined Warner Bros. Records (WBR) as Executive Vice President of A&R, based at the label’s Los Angeles headquarters. Albert, who co-founded the platinum-selling band The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, has held senior A&R posts at Capitol Records and Republic Records, signing artists such as multi-Grammy winner The Weeknd and acclaimed singer/songwriter Maggie Rogers. The announcement was made by WBR Co-Chairman & CEO Aaron Bay-Schuck.

Warner/Chappell Music officially announces its new leadership. Effective today, April 1, Guy Moot will become Co-Chair & Chief Executive Officer, alongside Carianne Marshall, who has been Co-Chair & Chief Operating Officer since January.


The announcement comes one month after Warner/Chappell’s move to a new, state-of-the art headquarters at Warner Music Group’s downtown offices. Both Marshall and Moot report to Warner Music Group CEO, Steve Cooper.

Ben Larsen has been promoted to Senior Vice President, International Marketing for Warner Bros. Records (WBR), based at the label’s Los Angeles headquarters. Larsen, who was most recently WBR’s VP of International Marketing, joined the Warner Music family in London in 2009 before moving to L.A. three years ago. In his new post, Larsen now heads the International Marketing team and reports to WBR Co-Chairman & COO Tom Corson.

Africa’s Boomplay Announces Licensing Deal With Warner Music

Boomplay, the largest music streaming and download service in Africa, has signed a direct licensing agreement with Warner Music to bring the record company’s diverse global roster of music to the region.


The terms of the partnership allow Boomplay to distribute Warner Music’s extensive catalogue of more than one million songs to its community of listeners in ten countries; Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.


The deal will provide Warner Music’s artists with direct access and exposure to Boomplay’s millions of users in the region,
