Warner Music and Doğan Music Expand Partnership in Turkey

Warner Music and Doğan Music are expanding their artistic partnership with a new deal that will see them build a domestic roster together. The move involves the opening of Warner Music Turkey, a new affiliate that will work with Doğan to build the international careers of top domestic artists and develop a stronger presence for Warner’s international repertoire in Turkey.

Ed Howard and Briony Turner Named Co-Presidents of Atlantic Records UK

Warner Music UK today announced that Briony Turner and Ed Howard have been promoted to Co-Presidents of Atlantic Records UK, effective from 1st January. Turner, who joined Atlantic in 2009, is upped from Co-Head of A&R for the label, while Howard is currently MD of Asylum Records UK, the Atlantic UK imprint that he joined upon its inception 12 years ago.

Together, Howard and Turner will assume responsibility for the full Atlantic Records UK portfolio, overseeing the creative and strategic direction of the company as well as the implementation of campaigns for its world-class roster of UK, US,


Travis Barker's DTA Records Sets Joint Venture with Elektra Music Group

DTA Records, a new label founded by Travis Barker, has entered into a worldwide joint venture with Elektra Music Group. The announcement was made today by Barker and Elektra Co-Presidents Mike Easterlin and Gregg Nadel. Under the terms of the deal, Elektra will provide the full spectrum of marketing and distribution services for DTA artists and recordings.


The first release from DTA Records/Elektra Records is Barker’s own “Gimme Brain” featuring Lil Wayne and Rick Ross, available everywhere today.


“I wanted a label partner that I trusted with true artist development,” said Barker.


RIP Marie Fredriksson

Marie Fredriksson of the band Roxette has passed away following a 17-year long battle with cancer.

Marie first found fame as a solo artist before partnering with Per Gessle to form Roxette in 1986. They quickly enjoyed success in their native Sweden and had their first worldwide smash with "The Look" in 1989, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the US.

New Platform to Promote Recording Artists and Songwriters Across the Globe


Warner Music Group (“WMG”) and Providence Equity Partners (“Providence”) today announced plans to invest in world-class recorded music and music publishing catalogs via a newly established platform, Tempo Music Investments (“Tempo”).


Tempo was launched with $650 million in equity and debt capacity, with most of the equity coming from Providence, a leading investment firm specializing in the media, communications, education and information industries.
