Piotr Kabaj to Leave Warner Music Eastern Europe

Following the announcement of Kinga Siennicka’s appointment as Managing Director of Warner Music Poland, Piotr Kabaj is leaving Warner Music Group (WMG) after a career in the music industry spanning nearly 30 years.

Kabaj co-founded Pomaton in 1990, originally to publish songbooks, before then branching into local recorded music.  The company went on to become in 1993 a licensee for EMI, before being majority owned by the global music company.  In 2013, it was sold to WMG as part of the Parlophone Label Group divestment process following the break-up of EMI.

Warner Chappell Music (WCM) today unveiled a dynamic new logo and brand identity. These changes follow the beginning of a new era for the global publishing powerhouse, which recently introduced its new leadership duo of Co-Chair & CEO Guy Moot and Co-Chair & COO Carianne Marshall, and moved into a new state-of-the-art U.S. headquarters in downtown Los Angeles’ Arts District. This is the company’s first rebrand since 1987.

Paul Sinclair Promoted to General Manager & EVP of Atlantic Records

Paul Sinclair has been promoted to General Manager & Executive Vice President of Atlantic Records, based at the company’s New York headquarters. The announcement was made today by Atlantic Chairman & COO Julie Greenwald and Chairman & CEO Craig Kallman. Sinclair joined Atlantic in 2006 and was most recently the label’s widely respected EVP of Digital Strategy & Innovation.


Sinclair has been the driving force behind the creation of the industry’s premier digital department, which has been a pioneer in digital innovation, while developing unique, bespoke campaigns for artists on the Atlantic


Legendary Spanish Artist Melendi Signs Deal with Warner/Chappell

Multi-platinum selling Spanish singer songwriter Melendi has signed a worldwide publishing agreement with Warner/Chappell Music, the music publishing arm of Warner Music Group (WMG). The deal covers both his extensive back catalogue and new music that he is currently working on.

Melendi has sold more than four million records to date and is the most streamed artist ever in Spain, according to figures from Spotify.  He is also known to millions as a judge on the Spanish and Mexican editions of TV singing competition The Voice.

Warner Music Group Corp. Reports Results For Fiscal Second Quarter Ended March 31, 2019

  • Total revenue grew 13.2% or was up 17.6% in constant currency
  • Digital revenue grew 20.8% or was up 25.0% in constant currency
  • Net income was $67 million versus a net loss of $1 million in the prior-year quarter
  • OIBDA was $191 million, up 25.7% from $152 million in the prior-year quarter

Warner Music Group Corp. today announced its second-quarter financial results for the period ended March 31, 2019.
