Warner Bros. Records Evolves Into Warner Records

61 years after the founding of Warner Bros. Records, the renowned label is being rebranded as Warner Records across the globe. This marks the latest step in the company’s evolution, following Aaron Bay-Schuck joining as U.S. Co-Chairman & CEO in October 2018, Tom Corson being appointed U.S. Co-Chairman & COO in January 2018, and Phil Christie being named President of the UK label in 2016. The name change also follows the U.S. company’s recent move to a new, state-of-the-art headquarters in downtown LA’s Arts District.

Warner Chappell Music Signs Worldwide Publishing Deal with Tony-Nominated Eddie Perfect

Warner Chappell Music (WCM) today announced that it has signed a worldwide publishing agreement with Australian multi-hyphenate Eddie Perfect. The songwriter’s work recently made its Broadway debut in two highly anticipated musicals: King Kong and Beetlejuice. King Kong, based on the classic 1933 film, opened at the Broadway Theatre in October of 2018, and Beetlejuice, based on the 1988 Tim Burton flick, recently opened at the Winter Garden Theatre.

Piotr Kabaj to Leave Warner Music Eastern Europe

Following the announcement of Kinga Siennicka’s appointment as Managing Director of Warner Music Poland, Piotr Kabaj is leaving Warner Music Group (WMG) after a career in the music industry spanning nearly 30 years.

Kabaj co-founded Pomaton in 1990, originally to publish songbooks, before then branching into local recorded music.  The company went on to become in 1993 a licensee for EMI, before being majority owned by the global music company.  In 2013, it was sold to WMG as part of the Parlophone Label Group divestment process following the break-up of EMI.

Warner Chappell Music (WCM) today unveiled a dynamic new logo and brand identity. These changes follow the beginning of a new era for the global publishing powerhouse, which recently introduced its new leadership duo of Co-Chair & CEO Guy Moot and Co-Chair & COO Carianne Marshall, and moved into a new state-of-the-art U.S. headquarters in downtown Los Angeles’ Arts District. This is the company’s first rebrand since 1987.

Paul Sinclair Promoted to General Manager & EVP of Atlantic Records

Paul Sinclair has been promoted to General Manager & Executive Vice President of Atlantic Records, based at the company’s New York headquarters. The announcement was made today by Atlantic Chairman & COO Julie Greenwald and Chairman & CEO Craig Kallman. Sinclair joined Atlantic in 2006 and was most recently the label’s widely respected EVP of Digital Strategy & Innovation.

 

Sinclair has been the driving force behind the creation of the industry’s premier digital department, which has been a pioneer in digital innovation, while developing unique, bespoke campaigns for artists on the Atlantic
