Warner Music Prize Created to Support Young Classical Talent; Inaugural 2015 Award to Be Presented in Association with Carnegie Hall

Warner Music Group is thrilled to announce the creation of the Warner Music Prize, established with support from the Blavatnik Family Foundation. Featuring a cash prize of $100,000, the award will be given to a classical musician aged 18 to 35 who demonstrates exceptional talent and promise, regardless of any label affiliation.

Peter Breeden Named CFO, Warner Music UK

Warner Music UK today announced the promotion of Peter Breeden to Chief Financial Officer with immediate effect. Breeden, formerly the company’s SVP & Finance Director, takes over the position from Simon Robson who is leaving the UK in December to take on the role of President, Warner Music Asia Pacific. 

As CFO, Breeden will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting and reporting for Warner Music UK and Ireland as well as helping to inform the company’s overall business strategy.

Simon Robson Named as New Head of Region

Warner Music Group (WMG) today announced that Lachie Rutherford, President, Warner Music Asia Pacific, has decided to retire and will step down in December 2014. Simon Robson, currently COO and CFO Warner Music UK, will assume leadership of Warner Music Asia Pacific on January 1st, reporting to Stu Bergen, President, International, Warner Recorded Music.

Warner Music and Univision Partner on Smash Television Show, “Va Por Ti” Competition Winner to Receive Recording Deal

Univision Network and Warner Music announced today their collaboration around the smash television show, “Va Por Ti,” with the winner receiving a recording deal with Warner.  Univision Network successfully launched “Va Por Ti” on September 7th, reaching 5.8 million viewers on premiere night and was the No. 1 reality series on social media across all English and Spanish-language networks. The winner of the competition will be announced December 7th during the show finale.

Eric Levin Appointed Chief Financial Officer
Brian Roberts to Become EVP, Corporate Strategy & Operations
Warner Music Group (WMG) today announced two senior appointments as it continues to enhance its ability to invest in growth opportunities and develop its global infrastructure. Eric Levin has been appointed as the company’s new Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Levin succeeds Brian Roberts who is moving to a newly created position on WMG’s senior management team as Executive Vice President, Corporate Strategy & Operations. Both appointments are effective immediately.
