Greg Dorfman Named EVP, Promotion for Elektra Music Group

Greg Dorfman has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Promotion for Elektra Music Group (EMG). Dorfman, who has been with the Warner Music (WMG) family for over 25 years, will now oversee the day-to-day operations of EMG’s promotion department, including the Elektra, Fueled By Ramen, and Roadrunner labels. Based in New York, Dorfman reports to EMG Co-President Mike Easterlin. 

Dorfman, who first joined the Elektra label in 1994, most recently served as EMG’s Senior Vice President of Alternative Promotion. Among his many accomplishments, he led the company to back-to-back No.


June Gao Named General Manager, Warner Chappell Music China

June Gao has been promoted to the new role of General Manager, Warner Chappell Music China. In her new position, she will continue to be based in Beijing and report to Monica Lee, President, Warner Chappell Music Asia Pacific.

Gao will oversee all Warner Chappell Music’s business in China, building up a team that will help the company’s local and international songwriters take advantage of the huge opportunities that are opening up in the country as its digital music market continues its surge in growth.

Recognized data science expert, statistician, and author Dr. Kobi Abayomi has joined Warner Music Group (WMG) as SVP, Data Science and Analytics. In this newly created role, he will lead analytics globally across WMG, driving valuable business insights through which the company can measure and maximize success for its artists and songwriters. Dr. Abayomi will be based in New York and report to Oana Ruxandra, EVP, Business Development and Chief Digital Officer.

Simon Robson Named President, International, Recorded Music for Warner Music Group

Simon Robson has been appointed to the central leadership role of President, International, Recorded Music for Warner Music Group. Overseeing the company’s operations outside the U.S. and U.K., he will be based in London and report to Max Lousada, Global CEO of Recorded Music, Warner Music Group.

Robson has been with Warner for over two decades and has served as President of Warner Music Asia since 2015. Under his leadership, the company expanded its presence in key markets such as China, Japan, Korea, and Indonesia, and opened a new affiliate in Vietnam.
