Bugsy Malone, the smash hit musical created by Sir Alan Parker, is returning to the Lyric Hammersmith, London from 11th June to 4th September 2016.
The show contains songs from Oscar-winning writer Paul Williams, published by Warner/Chappell Music, the global music publishing arm of Warner Music Group. The classic tracks include Bad Guys, My Name Is Tallulah, So You Wanna Be A Boxer and You Give A Little Love.
This Olivier Award nominated (Best Revival of a Musical, 2016) production directed by the Lyric’s Artistic Director, Sean Holmes, had a sell-out run at the Lyric Hammersmith last year and is now set to run for further 12 weeks over the summer.
Bugsy Malone is set in Prohibition-era America and is a story of mobsters, showgirls and dreamers, but with children and young adults portraying all of the characters. At the Lyric Hammersmith the production is led by three teams of young stars performing in rotation, with an ensemble of fresh talent aged 16 and older.
The show was originally created as a musical film in 1976, directed by Parker and starring Jodie Foster and Scott Baio.
Holmes’ 2015 production was the first revival of Bugsy Malone in more than a decade. Choreography by 2016 Olivier Award winner (Best Choreography In The Heights) Drew McOnie is featured in the production.

Generations of children and adults have given Bugsy a life I never imagined. I’m grateful for the good fortune that led me to the task.”
