Warner Music Group Division Launches Imprint with Cloudco Entertainment
Warner Music Group’s Arts Music division has signed a multi-season deal with global TV producer Cloudco Entertainment (formerly known as American Greetings Entertainment) to release original music from the hit Hulu original live-action series, Holly Hobbie. The first single, “Be the Change (Theme Song)” was released today, kicking off a cascade of tracks to follow throughout the summer, culminating with the full soundtrack album release on September 5th. The music will be released under a new Cloudco Entertainment label imprint.
Holly Hobbie is a modern revival of the classic character brand, brought to life by Ruby Jay (Tangled: The Series), who stars as a small-town teen trying to make the world a better place while tackling the everyday challenges of growing up. The show premiered last autumn as a Hulu Original Series in the U.S. and on Family Channel in Canada. As announced earlier this week, CBBC, the leading children’s channel in the UK, will launch the show’s Season 1 this summer, with additional market debuts in the works.
Karen Vermeulen, Head of Global Content Strategy and Co-Productions, Cloudco Entertainment, said: “The power of self-expression and relatability through music is intentionally at the heart of the show, to connect with our target audience. We are thrilled that Warner Music immediately recognized the huge potential to distribute and market the music in its own right and become a core partner of this growing franchise.”
Kevin Gore, President, Arts Music added: “What I love most about Holly Hobbie is how the positive messages of friendship, family, and following your heart are deeply conveyed through its original music. I’m very excited that the show and its characters are creating a safe, fun, and wide-reaching path for pre-teens to discover these wonderful songs.”
Holly Hobbie is produced by Aircraft Pictures (The Breadwinner, Bruno & Boots: This Can’t Be Happening at Macdonald Hall) in association with Cloudco Entertainment (Care Bears: Unlock The Magic, Tinpo) and Wexworks Media (D.N.Ace, Paw Patrol) with the financial participation of the Shaw Rocket Fund. Sarah Glinski (Degrassi: Next Class, Degrassi: The Next Generation) is the showrunner.
