Warner/Chappell Music Sweeps Country Music Week, Named ASCAP’s Publisher of The Year for Third Year Running

Warner/Chappell Music (WCM) and its songwriters have swept Country Music Week in Nashville, with the company being named ASCAP Publisher of the Year for the third year in a row, and its songwriters taking home a collective 31 Country Music Awards from the three major performing rights organizations, including: 17 ASCAP “Most Performed Song” Awards, 10 BMI “Top Song” Awards, and four SESAC “Country Performance Activity” Awards.

65 years ago today, Elektra Records was born in 19-year-old Jac Holzman’s college dorm room.
