Paul Sinclair has been promoted to General Manager & Executive Vice President of Atlantic Records, based at the company’s New York headquarters. The announcement was made today by Atlantic Chairman & COO Julie Greenwald and Chairman & CEO Craig Kallman. Sinclair joined Atlantic in 2006 and was most recently the label’s widely respected EVP of Digital Strategy & Innovation.

Sinclair has been the driving force behind the creation of the industry’s premier digital department, which has been a pioneer in digital innovation, while developing unique, bespoke campaigns for artists on the Atlantic roster. In his new post, Sinclair will focus on strategies to keep Atlantic at the forefront of modern culture, bringing his extensive marketing and creative experience to a wide scope of company initiatives.

“Paul came on board just as we were transforming Atlantic into a company where digital innovation is at the heart of our artist development strategy,” said Greenwald and Kallman. “He’s brilliant at translating our artists’ personal creative visions into the digital universe, and a passionate advocate for constantly reinventing what we’re doing to best serve the music. Paul is an invaluable, dedicated member of our senior executive team, and we’re thrilled to give him this wider platform to help take us into the future.”

“It’s been the most incredible experience to be part of the evolution of Atlantic under Julie and Craig,” said Sinclair. “We’re always thinking about how to stay ahead of the curve, in the digital space and across every area of the company. It’s all about finding the most inspired and inventive ways to nurture and advance our artists’ careers. I’m looking forward to this amazing new opportunity to contribute to the continuing transformation of this amazing company.”

Sinclair was named to Billboard’s Digital Power Players list in 2016 and 2017. A frequent speaker at media and music forums, he has recently guest-lectured about innovation in the music industry space at William Paterson University, Columbia University, New York University, and Albright College, hoping to inspire future leaders.

He came to Atlantic with a deep and diverse background in various industries, from leading project management at a web development startup to holding various roles at a software company working for the U.S. Department of Defense. He joined Warner Music Group (WMG) in 2001 as Director, Digital Properties. Sinclair moved to WMG’s Atlantic Records in 2006, spearheading the company’s commitment to emerging technologies and digital innovation.

Sinclair holds a Master of Information Science degree from Penn State, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Albright College. He hopes that his daughters will make millions in their latest series of unboxing and karaoke videos.
