“We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Chris Rea, a masterful singer, songwriter, and slide guitarist who bridged blues, rock, and pop with soulful, socially conscious lyrics into a rich, distinctive sound all his own. Rea’s body of work spanned 25 studio albums, including 1989’s classic The Road To Hell, which marked the first in a long association with Warner Music Group that culminated in 2019 with Rhino’s release of what sadly proved his final LP, One Fine Day. Rea’s passing today is especially poignant with his timeless holiday anthem, “Driving Home For Christmas,” once again bringing joy to fans everywhere.
