Grammy-Winning Joelle James Scores Top R&B / Hip-Hop Song for “Boo’d Up” and Shane “Murda Beatz” Lindstrom Wins Top Rap Song for “Nice for What”
LOS ANGELES – June 21, 2019: Warner Chappell Music (WCM) was named Publisher of the Year for the second consecutive year at last night’s annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards, and it shared the top honor with Universal Music Publishing Group. The company also earned 19 Most Performed Song of the Year Awards with Grammy Award-winning songwriter Joelle James taking home Top R&B / Hip-Hop Song for “Boo’d Up,” which she also performed at the ceremony, and Shane “Murda Beatz” Lindstrom winning Top Rap Song for “Nice for What.”

WCM had a strong showing overall, with “Apeshit” (The Carters) – Beyoncé Knowles Carter / Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter, “Finesse (Remix)” (Bruno Mars & Cardi B) – Christopher “Brody” Brown / Klenord Raphael (Shaft) / Jeremy Reeves, and “Motorsport” (Migos, Nicki Minaj & Cardi B) – Shane Lindstrom / Klenord Raphael (Shaft).
