Warner Chappell Music Signs Exclusive Three-Year Worldwide Deal with Legendary Mexican Singer/Songwriter Marco Antonio Solís

June 1, 2021

Warner Chappell Music (WCM) has signed a three-year worldwide deal with legendary Mexican music figure Marco Antonio Solís. The deal covers future works as well as a majority of Solís’ extraordinary catalog including his most popular hits like “Si No Te Hubieras Ido,” “Más Que Tu Amigo,” “O Me Voy O Te Vas,” and “A Donde Vamos a Parar.”

Gustavo Menendez, President U.S. Latin & Latin America, WCM, said: “Marco is a master of his craft, for decades his music has transcended time, touching the lives of music fans across generations. As both a songwriter and recording artist, he’s made a massive impact, laying the foundation for many who have followed him in both the regional Mexican and Mexican pop space. It’s an honor to represent one of the most important and hugely influential Latin music catalogs of all time.”

Throughout his over 40-year career, Solís has captivated the world with his romantic pop ballads, recording over 300 songs and releasing more than 30 albums. He currently holds the record for most No. 1s – 12 – on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart and, as a songwriter, has the most No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart.

Known as the “the poet of the century,” Solís’ talent has landed him five Latin Grammys; 18 Lo Nuestro awards; gold, platinum, and two diamond albums; Billboard’s Lifetime Achievement Award and multiple Producer of the Year honors; as well as induction into the Latin Grammy Hall of Fame and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Aside from his own work as an artist, Solís has produced for the likes of Rocío Dúrcal, Olga Tañón, Beatriz Adriana, Ezequiel Peña, Marisela, Ana Barbara, and Jenny Rivera. He has also collaborated with Miguel Bose and Roberto Carlos, and has seen his songs covered by great music figures such as Mana, Enrique Iglesias, Lila Downs, Pablo Montero, and Paulina Rubio, among many others.

A natural performer, Solís made history becoming the first Latin act to sell out both the Hollywood Bowl and Madison Square Garden in North America. In 2019, he completed his hugely successful El MÁS Querido tour playing alongside his daughters to sold out crowds in Ecuador, Colombia, Aruba, Chile, El Salvador, Guatemala, Argentina, Panama, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Costa Rica.

Solís made his big break in the ‘70s as the lead singer and songwriter of Los Bukis, one of the top-selling and grossing romantic Mexican groups of all time, before transitioning into pop as a solo artist.

The deal was done in collaboration with Foundation Media Partner’s Paul Vasquez and Harvey Russell.
