New facility will drive core business-critical architectures, AI capabilities and global systems
BENGALURU, September 2026 – Warner Music Group (WMG) has today announced the official opening of its new global product and engineering hub in Bengaluru.
The facility marks an expansion of WMG’s technology footprint, and builds upon its preexisting commercial and creative presence in India, uniting tech capabilities with its music ecosystem.
Led by Mahesh Rao (Director of Software Engineering and Site Lead), the Bengaluru team will build, own, and ship products directly into WMG’s worldwide technology stack. Beyond execution, the hub will play a central role in shaping WMG’s overarching architectural decisions.
The hub will power systems that drive global music distribution, high-throughput data pipelines, and advanced AI systems for forecasting and trend analysis. The team will also construct enterprise-grade backend infrastructure, audience insight engines, and marketing data products for use across the entire WMG global ecosystem.
The launch follows an initial 12-month incubation phase in which WMG built foundational local engineering capabilities, clearing the path for the opening of this new, dedicated, state-of-the-art facility.
Speaking, Mahesh said: “Bengaluru’s exceptional tech talent pool makes it the ideal location to build our new technology stack. We are excited to expand our team locally and solve complex engineering challenges that shape the future of the music industry.”
Recruitment remains ongoing for roles including:
- Engineers with experience in distributed systems and full stack development.
- Engineers experienced in building enterprise data pipelines, real-time telemetry, and scalable data products.
- Machine learning engineers to deploy AI across distribution, fan engagement, and internal workflows.
- Technical lead and engineering management talent.
