WMG NAMED TO FAST COMPANY’S ANNUAL LIST OF THE WORLD’S MOST INNOVATIVE COMPANIES

Warner Music Group was recognized for its reputation as an early adopter of emerging technologies. Specifically, Fast Company pointed to WMG’s innovative approach to Web3 projects as a way to deepen the connection between artists and fans. Notably, WMG partnered with music marketplace Serenade to launch ‘digital pressings’, a new format that makes music released as an NFT chart-eligible. As a result, Muse’s ninth studio album, Will of the People, became the U.K.’s first No. 1 album to incorporate NFT technology. Over the past year, WMG has also made strategic investments in major players in the space including, Authentic Artists, Forte, and Altered State Machine, and struck first-of-their-kind deals with the likes of POAP, OneOf, Blockparty, Splinterlands, Twitch, and more. The year also saw WMG bring some of its biggest stars to the metaverse for game changing concerts and experiences in leading virtual worlds such as The Sandbox, Roblox, and Fortnite.
