Atlantic Records Germany Launches

Warner Music has launched Atlantic Records Germany. Based in the cultural melting pot of Berlin-Kreuzberg, the label will be dedicated to discovering and promoting German hip-hop, with a special focus on underground rap, which has exploded in popularity in recent years.

The label’s first major signing is Yung Hurn, one of the most influential German-speaking artists of the last few years. The deal marks the first time Yung Hurn has partnered with a major label.

Leila Oliveira Named as General Manager of Warner Music Brazil

Leila Oliveira has been promoted to the new role of General Manager of Warner Music Brazil. In her new role, Oliveira will have oversight of the company’s A&R, marketing and business development functions, and will report to Sergio Affonso, President of Warner Music Brazil.

Oliveira has worked at the company since 2013, heading up its business development operations, playing a fundamental part in shifting WM Brazil’s recorded music business to a digital-first model.

Chris Gobalakrishna and Jonathan Serbin Named as Co-Presidents, Warner Music Asia

Chris Gobalakrishna and Jonathan Serbin have been named as the new Co-Presidents of Warner Music Asia. They will both be based in Hong Kong and report to Simon Robson, President, International, Recorded Music, Warner Music Group.

The two executives have already been playing a crucial role in the company’s regional operations since Robson, who was President of Warner Music Asia between 2015 and 2020, returned to London to take up his current role.

Lucie Sort and Nathalie Monnet Join the Top Team at Warner Chappell Music France

The management team at Warner Chappell Music France has been strengthened by the appointment of Nathalie Monnet as Legal Director and Lucie Sort as Finance and Administration Director. The move follows the promotion of Matthieu Tessier to the role of Managing Director of Warner Chappell Music France earlier this year.

Lucie Sort joins the publisher from Warner Music France, where she had served as Controlling Director since 2014 as the record company embraced and transformed its business models towards digital.

Warner Music Launches New Hip-Hop Label Asiatic Records

Warner Music has launched Asiatic Records, a new Asian label dedicated to supporting the best hip-hop and rap talent from across the region. It will offer Asia’s top hip-hop artists the support they need to develop their careers, elevating the genre across the region and introducing its stars to a global audience.

While Warner Music has launched country-specific hip-hop labels in the past, this new label is the first Warner Music imprint with the explicit mission of creating truly cross-Asian – and worldwide – superstars in the genre.
