Atlantic Group Named No. 1 Label of 2015 on Billboard 200

Company Lands Top Overall Imprint Honors, Plus No. 1 Rankings on

Year-End Digital, R&B/Hip-Hop, Dance/Electronic, Alternative, Hard Rock Charts

Ed Sheeran, Wiz Khalifa/Charlie Puth, David Guetta, Hamilton Also Win Big

 

The Atlantic Group has been named the No. 1 label of the year on the Billboard 200 chart, while Atlantic alone ranks as the Top Overall Imprint of 2015, as well as No. 1 Imprint on the Billboard 200. In addition, the company has landed the top spot on a genre-spanning array of the magazine’s year-end listings, including Hot Digital Songs Label, Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Label, Top Dance/Electronic Label, Dance/Electronics Album Label, Hot Dance/Electronic Songs Label, Alternative Albums Label, and Hard Rock Albums Label.

Contributing to Atlantic’s outstanding showing this year are artists such as Ed Sheeran, who was named the Top Overall Male and took the No. 1 Adult Contemporary title for “Thinking Out Loud”; Wiz Khalifa & Charlie Puth, whose “See You Again” earned the top spot on the year-end Hot Rap Songs, R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Songs, and Rap Digital Songs charts; and David Guetta, who was honored as the No. 1 Dance/Electronic Albums artist, at the same time winning top kudos on the Dance/Electronic Albums chart for Listen and Dance/Electronic Digital Songs for “Hey Mama.” In addition, the groundbreaking Original Broadway Cast Recording of Hamilton: An American Musical was named the No. 1 Cast Album of the year.
