Paris, October 29 2026 – Warner Chappell Music, the global music publishing arm of Warner Music Group, has announced the signing of an administration and sub-publishing deal with SATORI SONG, the publishing company of French pop icon Étienne Daho.
The landmark agreement, which was orchestrated by WCM France’s President Matthieu Tessier, and A&R Director Jérôme Brucker, covers Daho’s entire 45-year discography, from his 1981 debut album, Mythomane, to his latest release, Tirer la nuit sur les étoiles (2023). The deal encompasses more than 200 songs, including his celebrated works written and composed for legendary artists such as Vanessa Paradis, Jane Birkin, Françoise Hardy, Dani, and Marianne Faithfull.
Since emerging in the early 1980s, Daho has been instrumental in shaping and redefining modern French music by infusing it with influences from English-language pop, rock, new wave, and electronic music, most notably in collaboration with English producer William Orbit. Albums such as La Notte, la Notte, Pop Satori, Pour nos vies martiennes, Paris ailleurs, and Eden established Daho as one of the key artists of his generation, and for more than four decades, he has maintained his unique artistic identity and drive for reinvention.
Daho’s repertoire features numerous timeless hits, including Week-end à Rome, Épaule Tattoo, Tombé pour la France, Duel au soleil, Des heures hindoues, Bleu comme toi, Saudade, Comme un igloo, Soudain, Le Premier Jour (du reste de ta vie), Ouverture, and Le Phare. And he has enjoyed critical and commercial triumphs with albums such as L’Invitation, Les Chansons de l’innocence retrouvée, and Blitz. His 2023 album, Tirer la nuit sur les étoiles, featured a widely acclaimed title track duet with Vanessa Paradis – for whom he co-wrote and produced the album Le retour des beaux jours in 2025.
Daho’s career is also highlighted by an exceptionally strong connection to the stage and his audience, as well as numerous cross-disciplinary artistic projects, collaborations, and album reissues. The influence of his work today extends well beyond his own discography: his aesthetic, songwriting, and vision of pop music serve as an inspiration for multiple generations of artists, making him an essential touchstone of contemporary French music.
Étienne Daho says: “I’m delighted to be joining the Warner Chappell Music France roster as I embark on an exciting new chapter in my career.”
Matthieu Tessier, President, Warner Chappell Music France, concludes: “Working alongside a great artist like Étienne Daho and helping champion his repertoire, both in France and internationally, is a great privilege for all of us at Warner Chappell Music. I would like to extend my deepest thanks to Étienne and his producer Laurent Manganas for their trust.”
