French Superstar Extends Deal With Warner Music France

Johnny Hallyday, France’s most iconic recording artist, has chosen Décibels Productions, a subsidiary of Warner Music France, to produce his next concert tour. At the same time, Warner Music France is pleased to announce that Hallyday has extended his recording contract with the label.

Hallyday’s next album will be produced by Don Was (Rolling Stones, U2, Bob Dylan). Slated for release in late 2014, it will be followed by a major tour in 2015.

Hallyday has been a Warner Music France recording artist since 2006. His latest album, L’Attente (2012), has sold over 500,000 copies and was certified Diamond in France, as was his recent live DVD, Born Rocker Tour, released in November 2013.

Thierry Chassagne, President of Warner Music France, said: “I am proud and very happy that Johnny Hallyday has chosen Décibels Productions for his next tour. Johnny is France’s biggest star, and to be able to collaborate with him is a rare opportunity and a great honor. He is a unique artist with a fascinating voice and an exceptional career. In addition, he has reaffirmed his confidence in Warner Music France by extending his recording deal with us. For the past eight years, his art has been at the heart of our conversations, and we are delighted to continue our fantastic journey with him.”

Johnny Hallyday commented: “I am delighted to continue this adventure with Thierry Chassagne and the entire Warner organization. Together, we form a cohesive and highly effective team.  I am very eager to start my next tour with my new production partners, and to perform for my wonderful audience.”

Pierre-Alexandre Vertadier, President of Décibels Productions, added: “Johnny Hallyday is an extraordinary artist who defies comparison, with nearly 30 million tickets sold during his career. Just two months after my arrival at Décibels, it is with great pride that we join with Johnny for the production of his next tour.”
