Mascot Label Group (MLG) and ADA – the independent services arm of Warner Music Group (WMG) have announced a new distribution partnership for North America that will commence on December 1, 2014.  ADA has been in business with MLG in Great Britain since 2009, and in Australia, New Zealand and Scandinavia as of last year.  This move brings MLG into a worldwide digital distribution deal with the company, alongside a partnership in the physical retail space across most of the globe.

Mascot Label Group Founder and Chairman Ed Van Zijl states, “Obviously I am over the moon with ADA becoming an ever growing part of our distribution network in the World. Their mentality, enthusiasm and positive views in today’s market are matching ours. Not to speak of their professionalism and power. I can see us working together for a long time, as in this great environment, we can further exploit our repertoire and focus on growing and bringing the best we can.”

“Over the course of five years, Mascot Label Group and ADA have accomplished a lot together,” said Dan Chalmers, President, UK, ADA.  “At this point, we understand each other’s business so well that we’re very well-positioned to take things to the next level, and it gives me great pleasure to watch our relationship flourish across the pond and beyond.”

“Mascot is home to fantastic music from across Rock, Blues, and Metal scenes,” said Kenny Weagly, Senior Vice President, A&R and Label Services, ADA Worldwide.  “Their team has excellent taste, and we are thrilled to help tell the world about Mascot and their artists.”

Mascot Label Group continues to expand the company’s position in North America, signing artists and hiring key executive talent.  As Ed Van Zijl reveals, “With our talent, our own staff, and strategic partnerships, we are now entering a new phase in North America.”   Mascot Label Group President, North America Ron Burman offers, “As we continue to deliver success for our artists, and establish a broader footprint on this continent, this alliance with ADA is a key move in executing the company’s vision in the U.S. and Canada.  Our talented and diverse roster will benefit from this alliance, and we all look towards the potential with great optimism.”

The Mascot Label Group consists of individual imprints that include: Mascot Records, which primarily issues rock albums, introducing Volbeat to The World and nurturing the band through their first three studio albums as they became Worldwide stars; Provogue Records, an identity that is revered for its support of the Blues with artists that include Robert Cray, Walter Trout, Beth Hart and others; Music Theories Recordings, which continues to be a leader in the worlds of progressive and musicianship, with Flying Colors the most recent high profile album issued; and Cool Green Recordings, housing artists loosely defined in the alternative and cutting edge space.  The group of labels holds worldwide recording rights for the careers of some, while others are alliances focused on the European continent.  Recordings impacted by this North American distribution partnership include albums from Volbeat, Robert Cray, Beth Hart, Flying Colors, Walter Trout, Leslie West, Steve Lukather, Eric Johnson, Robben Ford, Shaman’s Harvest, new signing JJ Grey, and many more.
