MATEUSZ SMÓŁKA NAMED AS MD, WM EASTERN EUROPE

Warsaw, September 2nd 2026 – Warner Music Group (WMG) has announced the appointment of Mateusz Smółka as Managing Director, Warner Music Eastern Europe, effective September 7th. In this newly-created role, Smółka will oversee Warner Music’s operations across key markets, including Poland, the Czech Republic, South Eastern Europe, and Ukraine. Based in Warsaw, he will report to Simon Robson, President, EMEA, Warner Music.

Smółka will drive Warner Music’s strategic expansion across the region, implementing a growth strategy that builds scale and market share while honoring distinct local music cultures.  He will also reinforce the company’s status as a complete artist partner by expanding its full-service capabilities across talent development, distribution, and strategic M&A

Bringing more than two decades of experience across music, media, and technology, Smółka joins Warner Music following an eight-year tenure at Spotify.  There, he led the Editorial and Artist & Label Partnership teams across ten culturally diverse Eastern European markets.  He began his career as a journalist before advancing into advisory and leadership roles across the music industry.
