May 3, 2017

Warner/Chappell Music (WCM), the music publishing arm of Warner Music Group, today announced that it has signed a worldwide publishing agreement with accomplished singer, songwriter and actor, Hailee Steinfeld. The multi-talented star’s “Starving”—which was co-written by Warner/Chappell songwriters Asia Whiteacre and Noise Club—went platinum in the US and Top 5 at Top 40 Radio. Her new single, “Most Girls,” which she co-wrote, was released last week and is already off to a strong start.

Steinfeld said, “I’m honored to join the many incredible talents who call Warner/Chappell home, and I know that this team will give me the support I need to express myself musically and continue to grow as a songwriter.”

“Hailee is a creative whirlwind, whether it’s in the recording studio, in film, or on stage,” said Katie Vinten, SVP & Co-Head of A&R, US, Warner/Chappell Music. “The entire Warner/Chappell team is thrilled to have her in the family, and we look forward to collaborating with Hailee to take her musical career to new heights.”

Steinfeld has recorded songs with Machine Gun Kelly (“At My Best”), Shawn Mendes (an acoustic take on “Stitches”), DNCE (“Rock Bottom”), Kato & Sigala (“Show You Love”), and Prince Fox (“Fragile”). She will soon show off her dual singing and acting abilities once again, when she reprises the role of Emily Junk in the upcoming movie musical, Pitch Perfect 3.

Steinfeld rose to fame at the age of 14, when she made her feature film debut in True Grit. The 2010 performance earned her critical praise and a slew of awards, including a Young Artists Award and a Broadcast Film Critics Association Award, as well as nominations for an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award.

The Oscar nominee went on to feature in other films, including two musicals – Begin Again and Pitch Perfect 2 – which ultimately led to her signing a recording contract with Republic Records and releasing her debut EP, Haize, in 2015. Steinfeld was recently featured in the critically-acclaimed film The Edge of Seventeen, for which she received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress—Motion Picture Comedy or Musical, as well as an MTV Movie & TV Award nomination for Best Actor in a Movie.
