The acclaimed singer-songwriter Phil Plested has signed a global deal with Warner Chappell Music, the music publishing arm of Warner Music Group, covering his future works. Aside from his solo work, Plested has written for artists such as Anne-Marie, Bastille, David Guetta, Jonas Brothers, Kygo, Lewis Capaldi, Little Mix, Niall Horan, and The Vamps.
Plested first tasted significant songwriting success in 2016, when he co-wrote “Touch” for Little Mix, which broke into the UK Top Five. He went on to have his first UK Number One hit in 2019 when “Before You Go” topped the charts for Lewis Capaldi, with the track earning him an ASCAP Award for Most Performed Pop Song and then followed with another UK Number 1 with Lewis Capaldi’s “Forget Me”.

The catalogue of songs Plested has written has over nine billion streams, and includes other global hit songs with the likes of Kygo x One Republic’s “Lose Somebody” and Marshmello x Jonas Brothers’ “Leave Before You Love Me”.
Phil Plested says: “I’ve always had a strong creative relationship with Warner Chappell – the US team and UK have all shown my songs so much love over the years. So signing with them and making it official feels both familiar and fresh and a truly special moment. I can’t wait to see what we can get done together.”
Emily Green, Director, A&R and Catalogue, Warner Chappell Music UK, adds: “I couldn’t be more excited to finally be working with Phil as I’ve been a huge fan since we first met in 2017. I can’t wait to dive in and get Phil working across even more exciting projects globally, as well as be a part of his incredible ongoing artist project. Phil has been key to a lot of Warner Chappell songs and attended most of our songwriting camps across the years, so I know that our whole team worldwide is so excited to officially have him as part of the family. Thank you to Phil, Hannan & Amar for trusting us with Phil’s publishing – we’re going to have a lot of fun!”
Shani Gonzales, Managing Director of WCM UK and Head of International A&R, concludes: “Phil is an amazing songwriter whose music has a truly global reach. For years it has felt like he has been part of the WCM extended family, having taken part in a number of our global songwriting camps and having worked closely with our teams both in the UK and US. I’m delighted we’ve made the relationship official and can work even closer with him to tap into his creative brilliance.”
