Warner Music Group Corp. (WMG) today announced the promotion of Maria [Masha] Osherova to the position of Executive Vice President, Human Resources. As a member of WMG’s senior management team, Osherova will oversee all aspects of WMG’s human resources functions across the globe. Her responsibilities will include building a compelling and distinctive environment for WMG employees, while evolving the company’s collective skill set in alignment with its long-term creative and commercial strategy. Formerly Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Warner Music International, Osherova was most recently WMG’s acting worldwide head of HR. Based in London, she will continue to report directly to WMG CEO Steve Cooper.
“Since taking on the running of our global HR operations on an interim basis at the end of last year, Masha has demonstrated a superb understanding of our worldwide operation and offered first-class strategic guidance,” said Steve Cooper. “Our people are the foundation and lifeblood of our business, and it’s critical that we provide the atmosphere and support that will allow them to do their very best work. Masha has already introduced a number of important initiatives designed to attract, develop, and retain exceptional people for the WMG team, and I am very happy to welcome her to her new post in the WMG family.”
“I am very excited about taking on this expanded role,” said Maria Osherova. “Having joined WMG eight years ago, I continue to be impressed by the extraordinarily talented and knowledgeable people that we have at every level of this company. I’m looking forward to working with WMG’s leadership to make our culture the most dynamic and supportive in the industry.”
Osherova joined Warner Music Group in 2006 as Vice President, Human Resources for Warner Music International, based in London. Advancing to Senior Vice President of Warner Music International, she played a pivotal role in the successful integration of Parlophone Label Group within Warner Music Group, welcoming senior executives and staffers to the WMG team across the UK and Europe. Prior to WMG, Osherova was Global HR Manager for a division of Shell International Petroleum, where she headed a department responsible for employees in over 120 countries. She previously held several posts at The Coca-Cola Company, based variously in Copenhagen, Oslo, and St. Petersburg. Osherova studied at St. Petersburg State Technical University, where she was awarded a Master of Sciences degree.
