The Vamps Sign Deal with Warner/Chappell

The Vamps, who are involved in the race to have this week’s UK Number One album, have signed a global deal with Warner/Chappell Music, the music publishing arm of Warner Music Group.  The band has generated more than two billion streams of their songs to date.  

The Vamps say:  “We’ve always written songs for our albums and we also love collaborating with other songwriters.  Whenever we have down time on the road, we start writing.  It’s amazing to work with Mike Smith again and we can’t wait to team up with songwriters and artists working in every type of genre from hip-hop to Nashville.

Sire Records Chairman and musical industry icon Seymour Stein was honored with the Recording Academy’s prestigious Trustees Award on Saturday night, July 14th, at the organization’s Special Merit Awards ceremony and tribute concert, held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Billed as “GRAMMY Salute to Music Legends,” the event will be broadcast later this year as part of the Great Performances series on PBS.

Steve “Stevo” Robertson has been promoted to the newly created position of General Manager/Senior Vice President of A&R, Pop/Rock, Atlantic Records Nashville. Robertson, who relocated from Florida to Nashville three years ago, joined Atlantic in 1997 and has been SVP of A&R since 2010. His new appointment recognizes the continued expansion of Atlantic’s pop/rock A&R team in Nashville, and the label’s deep-seated commitment to the city’s diverse music community. Robertson’s current A&R roster includes Paramore, Shinedown, A Day to Remember, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Josie Dunn, and others.
