Warner Music Latin America Enters Strategic Partnership with Renowned Romanian Record Label, Roton Music

October 30, 2015

Roton Music—one of Romania’s top independent record labels—and Warner Music Latin America—a division of Warner Music Group—today announced a strategic partnership, through which Warner Music Latin America will license and promote Roton’s music throughout Latin American territories. The deal expands on Warner Music Group’s 2011 agreement with the label, through which Roton represents Warner’s repertoire in Romania.

Dan Muraru, Managing Director, Roton Music, said, “We’re grateful for Warner Music’s continued trust in and appreciation for Roton’s artists. As demonstrated over the past four years, our teams have accomplished great things together. We’re excited and confident that music lovers throughout Latin America will enjoy exploring the Romanian sound.

“Many of Roton’s artists are well-positioned to find success in the Latin American market,” said Inigo Zabala, President, Warner Music Latin America. “In fact, we’ve already seen the band Fly Project and Inna do incredibly well in the region. We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to Roton’s continued globalization.”

Roton Music is one of the first record labels founded in Romania, following the fall of the communist regime. With one of richest repertoires and artist rosters in the country, Roton quickly gained an important position in the Romanian music market from its beginning, while in recent years grown its recognition beyond Eastern and Southern Europe. The artists represented by the label are some of the most successful in the region, while some have broken-through internationally, topping radio and sales charts, winning awards and performing sold-out gigs around the world.
